At work we struggle with sharing large files. The only way we can exchange anything easily is by using email. Besides that we have a hard time playing back video content. We still run XP and that only allows the playback of some .WMV (stoneage) encoding.

The following sites really help me convert and share files between colleges and external parties.

  • Keepvid Great for downloading YouTube content (YouTube is disabled, company policy).
  • Mediaconverter Convert any type of movies, both offline or online, to a designated encoding format.
